I left with CELIM for the Ivory Coast in 1992. I was living in a small town called Toulepleu, nestled in the forest on the border with Liberia, 700 km from the capital, of which the last 60 km were on the track. It was really another millennium: in Toulepleu they inaugurated the installation of the landline in 1993 with a public ceremony with the authorities and the town band. I had two fantastic years, the ones I remember most nostalgically in the more than 30 years I have devoted to international cooperation. I cannot forget the support of the CELIM office in Milan under such extreme logistical and environmental conditions. A heartfelt thank you for initiating me into international cooperation and solidarity!
