In 2007 I was fortunate enough to participate in a work camp organized by CELIM in Livingstone, Zambia. I was 44 years old at the time and took the three weeks of summer vacation for one of the best experiences of my mature years. To this day I still retain intact the feeling I felt then: empathy for the local people I met during those days.

I like to hold on to the hope that I contributed, even minimally, to the success of the project to which the work camp was related. I gladly shared the trip and the stay with the other members of the group, of whom I was the oldest.

In the months following the trip, I had the opportunity, while living in Rome, to visit your previous headquarters in Via Calimero to discuss the experience at the work camp or attend events. In each circumstance the welcome was warm and gratifying.

For all this, several years later, I renew my thanks and above all wish you to continue with the same effectiveness in your meritorious activity.
